Living in the suburbs can have a significant impact on health insurance savings. The cost of medical care is generally lower in areas of lower population. Dense populations tend to put a strain on the health care facilities available and thereby drive the cost up. Living in a suburban area can not only reduce the cost but also increase the quality of care

Because Obamacare hasn't officially become law yet due to it being tied up in the Supreme Courts here's a quick health insurance idea. Most employer supplemented policies cost around one hundred dollars a month. This equates to nearly $1200 a year. Are you going to spending that much on health care in one year out of pocket? Are you usually very healthy? If this is the case, it may be better to have no insurance and pay out of pocket the one or two expenses that actually come up and save several hundred dollars.

Let your medical insurance company know that you are traveling. Some companies will not provide any coverage to you or your family in a foreign country unless you purchase extra coverage. You may not end up needing it, but it is always better to be safe than sorry when you are traveling.

If you jump out of planes for a living, or go rock climbing on the weekends, make sure and disclose that when you are purchasing insurance. You will more than likely pay a higher amount for your insurance. However, if you do not tell them that information they can choose not to pay out for your claim if it was a result of those activities. Be honest, even if it will cost you more.

Consider opening a healthcare savings plan. These plans are typically for people with high deductibles and allow you to deposit funds for later use on prescriptions and other medical costs not covered in your policy. The deposits you make are usually tax-deductible, so take advantage of this offer if your insurance company provides it.

Never pay cash for a health insurance payment. You want to have explicit records of your payment methods, so that should the issue ever arise, you have proof that immediate care you have been keeping your payments regular. Paying with a check is the best method, since the bank can tell you who cashed the check, and when.

If you want to be sure that you know what you are going for as you begin shopping for health insurance, you will want to get a few good tips in your head. Some OC Doctors Worry They Can’t Get Coronavirus Vaccine, OC Health Care Agency Working on Rollout

One primary care doctor, anonymously speaking to Voice of OC out of fear of retaliation by the hospital organization they’re a part of, said they have been testing, diagnosing and treating at least a dozen virus patients a day since late last month.

Primary care physicians generally have different roles from hospital doctors and are usually someone’s first point of contact for an undiagnosed health concern.

The doctor said they’re uncertain if they will get the vaccine any time soon and fear they might get the virus because the office doesn’t have negative pressure rooms — which help contain virus particles — and other high-end medical equipment that many hospitals have.

But the doctors may soon have access to the vaccine.

Orange County Medical Association President, Dr. Jason Cord, said primary care and urgent care doctors will be able to get inoculations from the incoming Moderna vaccine. Cord also sits on the OC vaccine task force, which has been working to roll out distribution plans.

Because the Pfizer vaccine has to be stored at extremely low temperatures, and has sensitive expiration times, Cord said those shipments went to the big hospitals who can manage to store and easily distribute them to frontline health care workers.
